Leather Cleaning and Conditioning
Keep meaning to clean your lounge and find yourself saying, “that’s a job for tomorrow” but tomorrow never comes? Is your lounge at the point where you just can’t get it clean enough, leaving that stubborn dirt in the grain? Then call CPR Leather Care today and enquire about our professional leather cleaning services.
It is essential that leather is cleaned and conditioned on a regular basis. A leather lounge/upholstery is a significant investment and continued maintenance will ensure its longevity. We recommend leather be fully cleaned and conditioned every three months minimum. It is vital that it is cleaned to prevent the continual build up of dirt, grime and natural body oils, which can deteriorate the top coat of the leather. Without regular cleaning your leather will lose its protection from absorbing natural body oils causing discolouration and in severe cases the coloured pigment of the leather will peel.
Conditioning the lounge comes hand in hand with cleaning. Leather is a natural product and continually dries out. Without regular conditioning the leather will get dryer and stiffer and eventually lead to crazing and cracking.
You may have tried to clean your lounge yourself with a leather cleaning product and a cloth without much success, leaving the majority of the dirt left in the grain even after many hours of elbow grease! That’s when you need CPR Leather Care for a professional clean. We guarantee satisfaction or your money back, our products are specially formulated and balanced specifically for leather. No generic household cleaners are used. We know how to move the most stubborn dirt and remove any grime sitting in the grain of the leather.

Crazing/Cracking
Are the seating areas of your lounge looking worn and tired? Crazing, cracking and accelerated wear of these areas usually occurs due to lack of regular leather cleaning and conditioning. Leather is a natural product and its moisture needs to be replenished to keep it soft and supple, which prevents cracking or crazing. CPR Leather Care can recolour and top coat any affected areas, rejuvenating the leather for its aesthetics and longevity. If the leather has started to craze, the quicker it is treated, recoloured and the top coat replaced, the less expensive the repair will be.

Ink removal
Accidentally got ink on the lounge whilst doing the crossword? Have the kids turned into Picasso and made a full masterpiece over your leather upholstery? CPR Leather Care can solve the problem. In the majority of cases ink cannot be removed from leather just by using leather cleaner, even when using ink removal wipes. These leather cleaning products may just lighten the ink, or in some cases if the ink removal wipes are too strong or you have rubbed too hard, they can remove the ink as well as the pigmented colour of the leather. There is no need to panic, CPR Leather Care can colour match the colour of your leather and recolour the area, thereby removing the ink stain or replacing the colour that has been removed. The repair will not be visible and the water based pigment used will be fully top coated so it is permanent, as if straight from the store.
Dye transfer
Is your lounge discoloured? Have you found different coloured spots on your lounge and have no idea how they got there? Dye transfer occurs when a non-colourfast fabric becomes damp or wet and comes in contact with leather. Whether it be from jeans, a wet towel or a scatter cushion, the dye in the fabric can penetrate the top coat and transfer onto the leather, dyeing the pigmented colour of the leather. Again, leather cleaner alone will not remove the dye and household cleaners will only harm the top coat of your leather, but be assured that CPR Leather Care can colour match your leather, recolour and top coat the affected area so that the dye transfer becomes invisible and the recolouring is permanent.
Recolouring
Still love your old lounge but don’t like the colour? Have you changed the decor in your home and your lounge now looks tired or is the wrong colour? We can recolour your whole lounge to the colour you require. At CPR Leather Care we keep ourselves up to date with the latest and best products on the market. When your lounge is fully recoloured with our water based pigments and top coats, it will be as good as new!
Beware of cheap imitations
Carpet cleaners who offer a cheap leather cleaning service are not leather technicians. If for any reason the top coat on your leather upholstery has been diminished, peeling and discolouration of the coloured pigment can occur during the cleaning process. If this were to happen, you can be assured CPR Leather Care can rectify this issue on the spot, replacing the coloured pigment and top coat. An untrained cleaner would not be able to do this, and may leave your lounge damaged. With CPR Leather Care you know you have the right people for the job. You wouldn’t have a plumber service your electrics, would you? So always use a leather technician to take care of your leather.
Take care of your investment. Our technicians will also advise you on how to continue to maintain your lounge yourself. You can also register for our reminder service.
